Ahmed is the Cofounder and CEO of Opteam, a construction tech startup that wants to reduce the resource cost of infrastructure by 20%. His company builds advanced and simple software to help contractors and consultants track and manage projects on-site as well as recover delays using AI-based schedule optimization.

Before Opteam, Ahmed led sales at SAP, where he closed several of the company's largest digital transformation contracts globally. His projects had major influences in the energy sector and for the advancement of both the UAE and German digital and innovation economies. He decided to start Opteam with his father, Dr Tarek Hegazy, a world-renowned researcher and Professor in Canada that has compiled several patents and 250+ publications specializing in using AI for construction.

Today, the company has helped leading companies in the UAE greatly improve construction tracking and reduce construction delays.
